Compassion

Compassion is the key to happiness. It means to understand others' pain, to cultivate the deep intention to help them, and translate that into action. Where empathy is bound up with expectations, unconditional compassion implies 'no matter what'; to love them just as they are. Compassion is something we can develop through working on our minds. It expands our empathy beyond its limitations.
